Dr. Timothy Guy Named Bishop Ireton High School’s New Principal – The Zebra

Guy assumes duties July 1. Formal introduction after Easter

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Late this afternoon, in an email to the Bishop Ireton (BI) community, the Catholic high school announced the appointment of its new principal, Dr. Timothy Guy. He will assume his duties on July 1, upon the retirement of Denise Tobin. A formal introduction will take place via video after Easter.

“It is with great privilege that I have appointed Dr. Guy to serve in partnership with Mrs. Kathleen McNutt as the leadership team at Bishop Ireton,” said Bishop Michael F. Burbidge.

Guy received his M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia and his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech. After graduating from Mount Saint Mary’s College with a BS in Mathematics, He taught math at Archbishop Carroll High School, George Mason High School, and Blyth Templeton Academy.

He has also had a long career in administration.  From 2002 to 2013, Guy served as Assistant Principal at George Mason. Prior to that role, he was Dean of Students for ten years. For the
