El Paso high school graduations ongoing this week – El Paso Times

High school graduations for El Paso Independent School District kicked off this week. Ysleta Independent School District’s ceremonies began on Friday, with some remaining this week.

Socorro Independent School District graduations began in early June and ended last week.

El Paso public school districts said they would host in-person graduation ceremonies in late April after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated public health guidelines, stating Americans fully vaccinated against COVID-19 don’t need to wear a mask outside, except in crowded settings.

At the time those decisions were made by districts, nearly 30% of El Pasoans were vaccinated. Just over 60% of El Pasoans 12 years and older were fully vaccinated as of Wednesday, according to El Paso’s COVID-19 data tracker
